The Academic Resource Center

A Tutor, A Teacher, A Parent, A Student

NAVIGATE:

Tutorials are offered on a one on one basis in the specialty required. Initially a couseling session is required with a Parent or Guardian to discuss benefits of the ARC program and what value might be derived for the student.

We serve clients from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in a core curriculum composed of math & science driven studies. We do require clients to register for a minimum of (4) tutorial sessions in order to effectively gauge student progress. Students are then evaluated after (4) sessions and a recommendation is made on whether or not to continue matriculation in the program.

ARC is conveniently located within walking distance to several area schools including; Columbia High School, Clinton School, Tuscan School and Maplewood Middle School. Students also arrive by van transport from other area schools incvluding South Orange Middle, Marshall School, and Seth Boyden School. Our Kindergarten students arrive as early as 12:00 p.m. for enrichment and instruction experiences, while upper grade sessions begin at 3:00 p.m. and are slotted throughout the evening until 7:00 p.m.
We serve to augment the schools services by offering extended, situational instruction and training at individual paces. While we believe in utilizing tutorial instruction for an edge in guaranteeing success, clients should be aware that national mandates have been set for classroom performance.
